Unofficially acknowledged as World Peace Day,
International Day of Peace was declared by the United Nations (UN) and
is a sanctioned holiday observed on 21st September of each
year.
It is committed to world peace, and particularly the
absenteeism of war and brutality, for example, may be occasioned by an
impermanent ceasefire in a battle zone for philanthropic aid access.
The General Assembly has pronounced this as a day dedicated
to “remembering and
fortifying the ideals of peace both inside and among all countries and people.”
The day was first celebrated in 1982 and is observed by many
countries, political groups, military associations, and individuals. In 2013
the day was committed by the Secretary-General of the United Nations to peace
instruction, the key preventive means to diminish war unceasingly.
To start the day, the United Nations Peace Bell is rung at
UN Headquarters (in New York City). The ringer is cast from coins donated by
kids from all over the globe except Africa and was a present from the United
Nations Association of Japan as “a sign of the human expense of war”. The
engraving on the ringer’s side peruses, “Long live absolute world peace”.
The theme for 2018 is “The Right to Peace–The Universal Declaration of Human Rights at
70.”
The secretary-general of the United Nations, Antonio
Guterres stated that-
“It is time all nations and all people live up to the words of the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which recognizes the inherent dignity
and equal and inalienable rights of all members of humanity. This year
signifies the 70th anniversary of that historic document.”
The world is our home and we need to make it a better place to live. Many lives are
lost each year due to terrorist attacks, wars, riots, etc. International peace,
today, is a very sensitive matter and UN aims at spreading the awareness on the
need of the same and it is our duty as the people living in this world, to keep
the peace and live our life beautifully in harmony.
Turacoz Healthcare Solutions- a medical communication company supports international peace and urges
everyone to work together towards achieving global peace and harmony.
“This
is our world and this place can be much brighter than yesterday, only if you
try. And once you try, you’ll find that there is no need to cry and no place
for fear and sorrow. There are ways to reach there only if you care enough for
the living. So, make a little space; make a better place.
Heal
the world! There are people dying and only we can put a stop to this sheer
terror and violence. Let’s just stop existing and start living. This way the
world we once believed in will shine again in grace.
So,
let’s not hamper the peace of the earth, wound it and crucify its soul. This
world is heavenly and is gifted to us by the almighty. So, let’s protect it and
work together towards achieving the global peace.”
